Chiropractor in Peoria AZ The Five Nutritional Supplements You NEED To Be Healthy!

In today’s video, we’re going to talk about the five most important supplements that you
can take to give your body the best ingredients and best chance at true health and vitality!
And statistics show that you are probably deficient in at least two of them! Hi everyone, Dr. Christopher Koch
here with Arizona Chiropractic Center. We’ve all seen people who are technically alive
– and we know that because they are semi upright and barely shuffling along, and we’ve also
seen people who are amazingly energetic and seemingly ‘plugged in’ to life. We all want
to be THOSE people, and today we’ll talk about a major part of what is required to get to
that level-the basic, foundational nutritional supplements that YOU can take to help create
the most healthy ‘you’ possible! Now, my brain, I think in word pictures.
So I sort of imagine a person’s body like an old, creaky, haunted house. When you open
up the door, it groans open and you see the floor boards- all dried up, cracked, split,
and sticking up all over the place. Now I tend to see people’s bodies in the same way when they’re ‘messed up’.
Is that you? Now, with proper care, picture that same flooring with all the wood planks
nice and smooth, sanded, and a beautiful, shiny perfect stain and lacquer on it. Wouldn’t
you like that instead? Let’s talk now about the five most important supplements that you
can take to give your body the best chance at health! But first, would you take a moment
and give us a thumbs up below and click “subscribe”? Thanks so much! I want to start first by saying
that you cannot supplement your way out of an unhealthy diet. You heard that right. If
you are eating fast food and drinking sodas on a regular basis, you are going to have
health problems that will be very difficult to dig out of later. So make today your day!
In the meantime, here is my list of must-have supplements! This first one is amazing- 80%
of all Americans are deficient in this. There are over 300 different processes in your body
that require it, and it is likely that you don’t have enough in you RIGHT NOW! Magnesium! In our office we have about 5-6
different kinds of magnesium. We tailor our care to each person, but for the purpose
of this video, we are going over the basics. Too MUCH magnesium generally won’t
be an issue. Your body will simply flush it out. Conversely, too LITTLE magnesium may
cause a very serious health issues or numerous issues. The time to be concerned about taking magnesium is
with end stage kidney disease or when a person is on dialysis. That would be bad. Otherwise, too much magnesium
will cause you to have a “Milk of magnesia” type effect, meaning that it will very effectively
make you go to the bathroom (number 2). Different types of magnesium exist,
and are good for different conditions. We generally take Magnesium Glycinate on a regular basis. We see a LOT of auto accidents, concussions,
and traumas. If this is you, a particularly good magnesium that we have in our office
that you would benefit from is called Magnesium L-threonate. You would want to take it as soon as possible- within hours after the concussion or injury. Other benefits of
magnesium include getting better quality sleep, improved cellular energy production, a peaceful,
calming balance to your brain, nerve system and muscles, reduced muscle spams and tension,
and restless legs. It also has been shown to naturally
and safely lower high blood pressure, helps with moods and depression, and help bone density
problems. It can also reduce heart arrhythmia
problems, increased HDL “good” cholesterol, reduce blood clot, heart attack, and stroke
risk, and one of the most well-known functions, improve constipation problems! And a side note, for the best absorption,
magnesium should be taken away from oils, fats, or meals. Now, the next supplement is a multivitamin
and often I recommend it to NOT have copper nor iron. This can be very important. As with
all supplements, you want one that is professional-grade and consistent quality.
Some of the foundational benefits
of a quality multivitamin include insulin sensitivity (not resistance) helps with fat loss and muscle gain;
Antioxidant and cellular energy production; Reduced pain, inflammation, and
cardiac risk; Helps healthy blood pressure, immune
function, and overall body detoxification. Great stuff. Now lets talk about fish oil! Amazing
for brain health, it helps heal the brain and restore function after a concussion or TBI/traumatic brain injury – again, great for people after a car accident. When people have
lower levels of EPA and DHA oils, they have been shown to have an increased risk of death
and a faster decline of brain function and increase in brain atrophy- including Alzheimer’s
disease. Some of the benefits of a quality
fish oil are reduced inflammation, pain and cardiovascular risk; balance your blood pressure,
improve HDL/LDL cholesterol and triglycerides; prevention and management of arthritis
and other autoimmune diseases; Now, healthy child brain development
during pregnancy – super important so you’ve got to have that for your baby’s developing brain;
Immune system health and balance very very beneficial with oils and one of the most common- good skin health in that it reduces wrinkling, dryness, and
even skin cancer risk. Drumroll please for the next vitamin…..Vitamin
D3! This is one of the most important and affordable supplements that you can take.
But don’t take it alone- you want to take it with vitamin K2. Taking D3 raises your
blood calcium levels, and Vitamin K2 takes the calcium out of your blood to your skeleton- that’s important, so it doesn’t clog your arteries. That is important. Take them together. Some of the benefits of a Vitamin
D3 level between 60-80 are reduced inflammation, reduced aches, pains and heart disease, it can help
reduce high blood pressure and help with blood sugar and insulin regulation for people with
diabetes. If you’ve been diagnosed with
asthma, environmental and food allergies, arthritis, inflammatory diseases, or auto
immune disease, it may help with this as well. I do suggest getting your Vitamin
D3 levels tested to find out what level it’s at and if you aren’t in our office, talk with
your functional medicine doctor wherever you are to help guide you into an optimal range. The last of the supplements is
the Probiotic! Your gut microbiome contains 100
TRILLION bacteria. (There are only 30 trillion It typically- your intestinal bacteria weighs about 4-6 lbs,
making it one of our largest “organs”. When the gut bacteria, or “microbiome”
are out of balance, it affects how your genes turn on and off. It is also linked to depression,
obesity, types 1 and 2 diabetes, Crohn’s disease, allergies, autism, and other brain
diseases. Many people have too little ‘good’
bacteria and too much ‘bad’ bacteria, but the bad guys are only a problem when they
outnumber the good guys, who keep them in check. An important thing to know is that
your gut can be out of balance without any gut symptoms/constipation/diarrhea/gassiness- anything like that- you won’t know. There is a new level of probiotic
that is extraordinary. It is a ‘spore’ based supplement that has been shown to improve
Leaky Gut by 60% in 30 days. It is amazing and it has become a key factor in increasing
the variety of good guys living in our gut. So that’s a popular one in our office. Gut health and healing has accelerated
since we’ve started using that particular probiotic. Even with the ‘Standard American Diet’ that you may have heard about, this is
proving to be a very good supplement. TADA! There you go- you have it! So remember, you
can’t supplement your way out of a bad diet but when it comes to the basics of a healthy
eating and supplementation, everything we just talked about, they are at the top of the heap! Those five. Remember ~ there
are just as many junk vitamins as junk food. Be sure to get a professional grade quality
supplement! We’ll see you next time! And
thanks for giving us a thumbs up and subscribing to our channel!
