Save the planet, eat more Taco Time 🤤 Reply Mazaya Shah says: November 20, 2019 at 4:06 pm I worked in a camp kitchen and anything we used in the kitchen had to be either washed and sanitized by soap and heat or by soap and chemicals. I'm wondering if you ask them to wash your container in their dishwasher and then use it for your order if they'd let you. If it was me I'd totally let you lol. Reply Mazaya Shah says: November 20, 2019 at 4:12 pm Also, I'm super proud of everyone trying to be more environmentally conscious even if it's baby steps. Maybe a couple of months of meatless mondays and gradual zero waste seems hypocritical to some but I think it's better than nothing Reply Alex 69 says: November 20, 2019 at 6:43 pm U good to the planet and I respect that but damn gurl shave ur armpits Reply Lu says: November 20, 2019 at 7:40 pm Sustainability + McDonalds?? Think again… Reply councilestate says: November 20, 2019 at 8:05 pm This video really annoyed me. Sustainability does need to be convenient but expecting a chain restaurant to use your own carry out container IS unsanitary. Auri also whining that chipotle did it for her once before and then disclosing it was in another state was so cringe and seemed entitled. Reply Lisa Bianconi says: November 25, 2019 at 6:24 am So now the Coldwater Cyn Whole Foods dude said “No, you can’t use your own jars. You’ll have to use the plastic bags. Before taking the test yes, I would do this and not care, but after taking that test. You don't want to risk contamination of any kind for any reason. Reply itsyagirljuju says: November 30, 2019 at 6:32 am fast foods restaurants also probably spend a lot of money for the plastic and paper to cover the food so they don’t want it to go to waste Reply La Lonster Empire says: November 30, 2019 at 9:43 pm With much love on the last meal…I wish like chains would support such things Reply Riley Kouf says: December 2, 2019 at 3:51 am Everything is zero waste when you have a WORM FARM Reply Kaylee Bautista says: December 2, 2019 at 7:44 am Your fat😂 Reply margarita quispilaya says: December 2, 2019 at 11:11 am No fast food, save the planet. Reply Millie Young says: December 4, 2019 at 5:50 am The girl in the back of the car Reply Halli Gallo says: December 4, 2019 at 7:24 am I honestly don’t understand this for restaurants like chipotle where if you dine in they will give you your meal in a real bowl with silverware. Customers have to return those unsanitary bowls when they’re finished eating and then they’re likely washed in an industrial dishwasher. If they believe that people bringing their own reusable to go containers are unsanitary then why can’t they just wash them in the same dishwasher that they use for their bowls before serving their meal in them? At my schools food court that has fast food options we have the option to get our food in our schools reusable containers. Basically after we hand the restaurant a container card, they take the card and put our food in the reusable container and when we’re finished we return the dirty container to be cleaned and are given our card back for future uses. It’s a simple system that works really well. Reply Charlie says: December 4, 2019 at 7:18 pm 4:24Honestly this is a mood Reply Jasmine Durrah says: December 4, 2019 at 10:00 pm Her armpits? I live in Lombok (Indonesia) and have actually tried ordering McD take out using containers and tumbler that I brought from home and the workers at McD were more than happy to put my food and drinks in the containers that I provided for them. They even complimented my 5 yo son for bringing his own tumbler and container. So yes, I guess it really depends who is behind the counter. Reply Grace Alleman says: December 9, 2019 at 6:56 am I worked at a ramen food cart, and we had these really bulky wax coated paper cups for the soup, but there was this one guy that would stop by during his lunch break and bring a glass container for me to fill. Since it's a major kitchen, anything brought back is a health code. Where as Starbucks is a drink chain, they can fill it up right there. Different types of restaurants have different rules and codes Reply Shrihari prabhu says: December 19, 2019 at 4:18 pm Why are the containers made of plastic ? Maybe it’s time to look at how it’s done in Asia people Reply LaurenIRL says: January 4, 2020 at 8:05 pm Maybe it’s state laws, I live in Texas and want to try this now. Reply Nikki Bad says: January 4, 2020 at 8:26 pm I understand your desire and I understand California allows it. However, you also need to understand the risk the location is taking and why it is harder for a chain to allow it. Also a national chain likes to have national rules so if state or local regulations in some areas they are in say no it's easier for them to say no nationally to avoid the issue you had with chipotle the dreaded "I've done it before" "other people have done it for me." I would be interested how a more statewide chain handles this request. Also personal containers are not a standard size and can lead to over/under portioning.
