South Koreans can give themselves a pat on
the back for tanking in an OECD ranking for a change. The latest survey on the adult obesity rate
released by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development… shows Asia’s
fourth largest economy ranks near the very bottom. The digits stood at 5-point-3 percent for
Seoul, slightly above Japan’s 3-point-7. The OECD average in this category for those
aged 15 and up is 19-point-5. America topped the list. The birthplace of cronuts recorded more than
38 percent. The global body discovered… generally women
are more likely to be obese than men, but obesity rates for men are catching up fast. Education was determined to be a key factor. At work, compared to their slimmer countperparts,
heftier individuals get 10 percent less in their paychecks, are less productive, clock
fewer hours and have more sick days.
