fitness & Rehab and today we’re talking about functional integrative nutrition
most people think nutrition it’s what goes in my mouth it’s what goes my body
in fact functional integrative nutrition yes it is about diet but it’s about so
much more than a diet yes you are where you eat to an extent we want to make
sure that you’re getting vitamins and minerals nutrients so much of ailments
come from poor nutrients and because our soil is different there’s less nutrients
in the soil so it’s really important to supplement with the right vitamins and
minerals supplements can be really helpful because we have a growing
population the farmers are not letting their fields just hang out and get
nitrogen in the soil and leave them fallows also sleep sleep is so important
your physical repair your emotional and mental repair happens when you are
rested it allows your brain to drain it allows your food to digest it allows you
to have less stress between the hours of 10:00 and 2:00 is physical repair and
then 2 to 4 is emotional and mental repair so it’s really important that you
get enough sleep third component stress stress is everywhere I can’t get
stressed to go away it will always be there so what actions am i taking to
work so that stress is not affecting me as much so what can we do we can
meditate we can get massage the other thing you can do is exercise really
helps to release stress the fourth component that we don’t have as much
control over because we don’t get to pick our parents is the genes we don’t
get to pick the hand that we’re dealt with our genes so there is a component
of randomness that happens but what we can do is by sleeping well decreasing
our stress and getting the right vitamins and minerals we can control
what genes are turned on and off so that we can optimize our being and be as
healthy as possible so work on your sleep work on your exercise work on
proper supplementation and then we can work on the whole body and have the
