my name is Esra Zakout. I am
almost 26 years old I am engaged waiting to be married in the summer I work in a
school I am a college counselor and I was born in Qatar and I lived in Canada
for half of my life that’s why I grew up being a bit of a bigger child from since
I was maybe 9 years old 8 years old I remember being chubbier than other kids
and then as I grew up it started becoming I started gaining the weight
and I have a lot of favorite sweets and desserts and so on so after a while
after I graduated college I felt like I needed to do something to fix it I
needed to start losing way that I’ve tried a lot of diets after I go to the
gym I’ve tried exercise but none of it was giving me the results that I wanted
so in 2014 I had a gastric sleeve Because of her first wrong technical operational decision, we have to perform corrective surgery for her. Because, she wants to get pregnant. Thus, her menstrual cycle will be regular naturally. I lost a bit of weight but unfortunately
it wasn’t the right surgery for me from my way to for my repetition habits so I
lost a little bit of weight and then ice and then I stopped for a really long
time and then I started getting it back so that is when I started researching
and I to see which basically surgery would be best for me. What we will do is, we need to correct this failed wrong surgical procedure into the right-sided surgery. We will perform mini gastric by pass is a surgical procedure that you see on the screen written. Passing through the esophagus into the stomach and then transmitted to the small intestine with the duodenum will be shorten. After I got engaged, our wedding days… and everything I wanted to… I wanted to be that pretty bride I wanted to try dresses and I
wanted to have more options of dresses because I needed just shop that I would
go to would not have my size. So that’s when I decided that I wanted to have the
surgery so that I can looked like a queen on my wedding day.
My only concern probably after having the second surgery would just be maybe
the food. Because or the lack of it, because food has always been kind of
like a therapy for me. Almost whenever I am… I’m a very emotional person
so when I’m upset when I’m angry when I’m stressed I eat and that probably
won’t make all the most of the weight gain again after the first surgery. So
maybe the second surgery I know that I will not be able to eat because that’s a
little more drastic than the first one. Like all surgeries, firstly, we will shrink the size of her stomach. That procedure will be under general anesthesia. She will feel no pain. Then what we perform is, we will place small canulas which is called trocars in her stomach. We will also insert camera trocar and other medical components. We will reach sick stomach and decrease stomach capacity. we’ll produce a new gastric pouch much smaller. The small stomach which will be newly created is connected with small intestine. We’ll find 250 cm. of proximal part of small intestines and we’ll make it up. And then we’ll make it continue with the same medical components. After that process Excessive calories are discharged without absorption, fastly. The surgery was so hard as we had expected. um.. When I first found out about Memorial. I heard a lot of great things about it and it’s known worldwide and I lost a
few Turkish friends actually that’s living put on it they all know about
malaria so they all recommend that the hospital to me so far my experience with
them has been amazing I mean dr. Murad is very very friendly and very kind he’s
very funny for after first meeting him for the first time I am sure about my
decision and I know that I want to have the surgery but I wanted my mom to even
be more comfortable as the doctor played a very important part enough so because
my mom really liked what she felt very comfortable with him I was also very
comfortable my experience with Memorial has been very great all the people that
were with me during all my tests were very supportive they were very helpful
they were asking me can we get you this can you do this for you can help you
some of them were staying with my mom to make sure that she’s okay and she’s calm
obviously every test that I’ve been doing so far has been on the machines
that I’ve never seen before it’s everything it’s talking to the line
everything is new I if stuff that I think a lot of hospitals around the
world don’t have and they’re very thorough they do so many tests to make
sure that you are doing the right surgery that you’re not taking any risks
that you will not have any side effects and that really makes me comfortable as
a patient as well as actually this is maybe has
nothing to do it with anything else but it’s a very pretty possible but it’s a
very big hospital it’s very clean the soccer very helpful the summer very
friendly there’s a really yummy restaurant here as well the rooms are
more like hotel rooms for more than rather than there are prospect of rows
so yeah I know I would definitely recommend this hospital for anyone who
wants to come do a serious surgery I mean your health should be your number
one and I feel like you want to do it at the correct Hospital at the hospital
where you feel like your health is the most important When I first came to hospital, I was nervous. Because I thought that surgery was so dangerous. My daughter was so young and I was frightened that this surgery will harm her body in the future. In the beginning, I was so scared but when I came to Memorial, I, totally changed my mind. They use latest medical technology. The staff who works for hospital make us happy both of us. I didn’t have any hesitation of my daughter’s operation. When I lose my over weight after the surgery, I really just want to be active. I don’t want to just lose the weight and to say okay I lost the weight
be able to feel like I am in general a healthy person I can run I can I can
jump I can climb I can walk not the smallest activity makes me tired
that’s most likely my number one g The surgery was so hard as we had expected. While that kind of surgery time takes around an hour or one and a half hours, duration of Zakout’s surgery took nearly 3-3.5 hours. After gastric sleeve surgey, I saw and evaluated Ms. Zakout after surgery. She is well and healty. She does not feel any pain. She managed to stand up on her own. lot quicker than I thought I would I’m
walking around I’m getting a bit tired faster but it’s when you think about an
operation like this you think that being bed for a real long time you don’t after
the first four days you can walk around you can be normal again. So I feel pretty
good.. thank you so much for Memorial.
