What foods give you better nutrient balance?

homeostasis yeah, it’s a big word it basically means that our body has one mission it never achieves that mission but it is Always on a mission to achieve balance so i saw today i would talk to you about three Balances that are really important for you and your body to run better so the first one is macro nutrient balance what i’m talking about here is carbohydrates proteins healthy fats and my non starchy Vegetables so if you paid attention to any of my better nutrition information elsewhere you would see that nutrient balance is one of those things that i focus on as a core pillar of your better nutrition i’m constantly assessing people’s food journals for that why because just like a car we run better when we have all of the right pieces working within us right so with the car its gas goes in the gas tank and oil goes in the engine and Air goes into the tires and we clean up inside the car so that it’s not dirty well that’s like carbohydrates are energy proteins are air in the tires Oils or are fats are healthy fats and that clean up work inside the car so you don’t have a dirty smelly car to get Into well those are our non starchy vegetables that balance is going to be more important for you than counting calories it’s why calorie counting doesn’t work because you could have a 100 calorie pack but if it’s all Carbohydrate your body’s going yo i don’t have the air in the tires i don’t have the oil in the? Engine right it ain’t gonna run well so instead you might do better with 150 calories that’s an apple with some peanut butter spreaded on it right so that nutrient balance is gonna be really important for you another better balance is calcium and magnesium i’ve talked about this a bunch you can check out my better calcium evaluation and my better magnesium evaluations as well as both of those menus on the website at ashley koff approved comm and it’s critical that you make sure you’re getting at a better balance why it is a myth that we build strong bones with calcium we build better bones with calcium magnesium vitamin k boron a couple of vitamin d couple of other nutrients but calcium is a muscle contractor so what i had to sit here and do this contracting and i worked out this morning i’m gonna be tired Magnesium is that muscle relaxer we need to make sure that we’re getting in enough magnesium and 70 to 80% of adults are not that means that for all those people their bodies are staying in a stressed-out state longer that means irritation Constipation headaches trouble sleeping a lot of this just real tension so if that’s you or could be you don’t guess assess go get those evaluations all right the third one potassium and sodium You know we hear a lot about how we have to reduce reduce reduce Remove our sodium and that’s actually a flaw we do need to reduce it we may be getting in too much sodium but we don’t want To remove it because sodium plays a really important role in the body keeps water outside of ourselves but it keeps that water inside of our body It’s going to play a key role in hydration but Potassium is the counterbalance to sodium so one of the things that we’ve noticed is as people don’t just reduce their sodium but they Improve their potassium intake they do better not just from a friend hydration standpoint but from a heart health standpoint from a healthy skin standpoint and from a better energy standpoint and we actually eat better because sometimes when we’re thirsty ie Dehydrated we think that we’re hungry or we turn to something that’s more caloric and may not be providing us potassium which is what the body is crying out for to help bring that water Inside the cells so better balance make sure it’s happening for you homeostasis right and if you like what you’re learning here please give me a and maybe subscribe And if you really like it or you know someone who’s struggling who’s maybe investing time money resources and they’re not getting better results i’d love if you share this video with them and if any of you have any questions Share the comments with me here or with the better nutrition team at ashley koff approved calm thanks and i’ll see you next time
