What should you look for in a nutrition coach?
– Hey guys, Robby here from CFSB Nutrition at
CrossFit South Bend. Today we’re gonna talk about what to look for in a
good nutrition coach. So there are a lot of different things. You want someone to be knowledgeable. You want someone you get along with. Someone who can motivate you. But I would say one of
the most important things about any nutrition coach, obviously besides being knowledgeable, you can’t just say ooh have cookies and pizza and cake and you can eat whatever you want and
then achieve your goals. No, you’ve gotta have the knowledge. But it’s someone who’s
going to listen to you and pay attention to your goals, because there are a lot of dogmatic nutrition coaches out there that would say paleo’s right for everyone, veganism is right for everyone, if it fits your macros
is right for everyone, and the truth is it really depends on what your goals are, and what you want to accomplish, whether a keto is right for you, or vegetarianism is right for you, and maybe you have certain religious or ethical beliefs that lead you to be a vegetarian. Someone a coach would say oh well you have to be paleo in that instance isn’t really listening to what it is you want to accomplish. So you wanna look for someone who pays attention to your goals. From there you want someone who can hold you
accountable to your goals. If you say these are your goals, then someone as a coach has to be able to hold you accountable. They can’t just say
ope you didn’t complete your assignment this week, we get to move on. No, you’ve gotta stick
with that, achieve it, and then progress from
there to the next one. A good nutrition coach is someone who motivates you, someone who helps you see the best version of yourself, someone who when your willpower and your motivation has waxed and waned, they can pick you up and help you get back to where you wanna be and reclaim that motivation you once had to achieve your goals. So it’s really important
for a nutrition coach to be knowledgeable, to motivate you, hold you accountable, help you build those healthy habits. But you really wanna make sure with a nutrition coach that it’s someone who pays attention to your goals, and is not dogmatic about keto, paleo, vegan, if it fits your macros, it’s gonna depend on you
and what your goals are, and they need to listen
and fit the program to what it is you want. Alright guys, thank you
