What’s included in one-on-one nutrition coaching?

– Hey, guys, Robby here
with CFSB Nutrition at CrossFit South Bend. Today, I wanna talk about our main one-on-one nutrition coaching
program and what it entails. So in a separate video, I’ve talked about what you can expect to gain and what goals we can help you
with with nutrition coaching. Now I wanna talk about the details of what it actually includes. So first and foremost, above all else, the number one thing,
weekly food journal review. This is how we are able to keep track of what it is you’re doing
and how you’re progressing. This is the heart and soul of the program. This could be as minimal as just a basic habit tracking format where you’re just tracking habits or as detailed as MyFitnessPal
with your food quality and calories and protein and carbs and fat but in one way or another we need to track what it is
you’re doing on a weekly basis to see hey, should we
progress forward from here, should we stay here
for a little bit longer because it was a stressful week or should we pull things back
because that was way too hard for you to accomplish
that particular week? Another thing we do is we have
unlimited email questions. So we’re here to help you. Unlike a book that would
pick up in the store, we are there to answer any
questions you might have about what if I run into this situation or I’m traveling here and
I don’t know what to eat or I’m really having a tough time stopping late night snacking. We’re there to answer any
questions that you might have that you run into that are
keeping you from your goals. We do monthly one-on-one
meetings to do a few things. We like to answer any questions you have, talk about hey, feeling
like I have more energy and my clothes are fitting better but my performance in
the gym is suffering, how can we adjust things? So in those meetings, we talk about how can we improve things or move them forward or scale them back. We also do weights,
measurements and pictures. This is a good metric for
how well are things moving? If you wanna gain size in muscle, we’re gonna wanna see that weight go up. If you wanna lose fat and get leaner then we’re gonna wanna
see that weight go down. We do measurements on
the waist and the hip. We do pictures as well
’cause that’s a good way to tell how things have moved and then we also do an
InBody body fat scan every time we meet to measure
have you gained more muscle, have you lost more fat? Maybe you’re the same weight
and the same measurements and the same pictures but
your muscle has gone up and your body fat’s gone down. That’s still a win. So that’s really important too. We do a two hour one-on-one
grocery store tour. We tell you every single
thing you need to know about how to shop for vegetables, protein, do I need to buy organic, not organic, what are some healthy sauces, what could I do as a substitute
for pancakes on the weekend for my kids, things like that. We have a private Facebook group where we share recipes and grocery finds and questions and videos, just a way to crowdsource
different information and to help others out and to make it so that we
can help motivate each other and in addition to that we
give everyone a Whole30 book which not everyone has to do the Whole30 but it’s got a really
good grocery list in there and good tips on how to avoid cravings and to make if then statements for if you come home late from work, what are you gonna have for dinner if you’re stressed that day, what are you gonna do in that situation? So it’s a really good
guide that can be used in addition to what you’re
doing in nutrition coaching but basically, the
difference between a book like the Whole30 book or a keto book or something you might
pick up in the store and what you encounter
in nutrition coaching is that we help make that
information a reality in your life and there’s a gigantic gap between the people who read these books and don’t ever do anything about them versus the people who work
with a nutrition coach to actually make this stuff
a lifelong sustainable habit and the way we help you do that is with things like the food journal, the monthly meetings, the InBody scan, one-on-one grocery store tour and the private Facebook group. Alright, guys. So hopefully now you’ve got a good sense of what our one-on-one nutrition
coaching program includes. Thanks so much for tuning
in, we’ll see ya next time.
